Essentially, a bidet is a device that uses a stream of water to clean your bottom after using the toilet, for cleaner and healthier results. I’ve used bidets all my life and have installed one on every toilet in my home. My children were also raised using bidets and now prefer them.
When we travel, we rarely, if ever, find hotels equipped with bidets. One summer, I attempted to bring a standard bidet on our road trips and quickly encountered several drawbacks. First, installing a bidet typically involves modifying the plumbing behind the toilet, which is not advisable. Hotels do not want guests tampering with their plumbing, and there’s a risk of damaging the pipes or the toilet. Additionally, installing a bidet requires removing the toilet seat, which could also result in damage to hotel property.
Recognizing the need for a portable, simple solution, I designed a bidet that can be installed without tools or altering the toilet seat. The result is the Travel Bidet, which clamps onto the toilet bowl in front of the existing toilet seat while it’s in the upright position.
To ensure sufficient water pressure, we designed a portable water supply that carries 2 gallons of water and contains a pump and rechargeable battery for water pressure.
We then designed a carrying case for both units so they would be easy to transport. This compact and convenient system is the foundation of our product, the Travel Bidet Deluxe.
We have completed the design phase and the result is a prototype of a perfectly-functioning system that we can’t wait to bring to the market.
